Gary is a freelance Director of Photography and owner of Country Star Productions. Gary has lensed over 14 feature films, many music videos, TV and corporate including Netflix productions. BEFORE STARTING country star gary spent several years teaching professionally within schools and also in pqa. this is where gary met ryan and had a shared passion to start their own film school, xfacademY. WITH AN EXTENSIVE TRACK RECORD IN USING CINEMA CAMERAS AND LIGHTING GARY IS EAGER TO PASS ON HIS KNOWLEDGE TO YOUNGSTERS AND GIVE THEM A REAL OPPORTUNITY OF A HANDS ON EDUCATION IN FILMMAKING. AFTER LOOKING AT EXISTING OPPORTUNITIES IN FILM SCHOOLS AND DRAMA SCHOOLS IT WAS CLEAR SOMETHING WAS MISSING. MOST ARE USING DOMESTIC QUALITY CAMERAS AND LIGHTING AND GARY WANTED TO ENSURE STUDENTS HAVE A HANDS ON, REAL WORLD INDUSTRY STANDARD EXPERIENCE.

Ryan has been acting since the age of 16. Acquired his A levels in performing arts in college. During his time in college he worked with the British Youth Film Academy where he acted in MANY films. During his time there, he had a role in a film called The Perfect Burger produced and directed by Todd Carty where he acted along side Pauline Quirk. Ryan went on to play the role of Marc Antony in Julius Caesar which won runners up for best low-budget film in Raindance Film Festival. Having a passion in filmmaking and acting, he went on to work at Pauline Quirk Academy WHERE He was an assistant teacher in the film & tv class. RYAN Went on to become vice principal at the academy and met Gary while working there. They built a bond and worked really well together WHICH LEAD THEM TO CREATE THE Xpress Film Academy. He also acted in a horror film called ‘Bite Night’ as a punk called Axel. With plenty of experience in front and behind of the camera on various film sets. Including sound recording, lightING and 2nd assistant camera. Ryan wants to use all of his skills to teach young people and give them the tools they need in the film industry.
